University of St. Thomas partners with student success experts, InsideTrack to optimize the enrollment process and student experience
ST. PAUL, MN (APRIL 10, 2018) — Launching new higher education programs always involves a certain amount of risk. That is why savvy institutions design for the entire student lifecycle, from recruitment through graduation to increase the chances of success and ensure that students have a positive experience from the outset. For example, the University of St. Thomas (St. Thomas), Minnesota’s largest private university is integrating student success coaching into the enrollment process for several new online programs, through a partnership with InsideTrack.
Over the next two years, InsideTrack’s professional coaches will work closely with St. Thomas’ enrollment team to support as many as 3,000 prospective students in making informed enrollment decisions, connecting to campus resources and beginning their program with a well-designed plan to balance career, academic and personal commitments. InsideTrack will also support St. Thomas in operationalizing insights gained through coaching interactions to optimize the enrollment process, better allocate resources and ensure students get the support they need to persist and graduate prepared for meaningful careers.
“One of the hallmarks of St. Thomas’ graduates is that they lead, work and serve with both the skills and empathy vital to creating a better world,” said Brett Coup, associate vice president for academic technology at the University of St. Thomas. “It’s our responsibility as an institution to constantly enhance our own skills, as well as our understanding of student needs. Partnering with InsideTrack is an important part of our efforts to provide our students with the outstanding educational experience that St. Thomas is known for.”
Minnesota’s largest private university, with approximately 10,000 students from 50 states and 63 countries, St. Thomas has metropolitan campuses in St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Rome. The university offers more than 100 undergraduate majors and 60 graduate degree programs. With a low student-faculty ratio, each student is able to enjoy personal attention from professors and opportunities to collaborate in student-faculty research. The coaching initiative will initially focus on several new online programs launching in the fall of 2018, including Masters programs in Business Administration, Law and Catholic Studies, as well as a graduate certificate in Business Analytics.
InsideTrack, a member of the nonprofit Strada Education Network has coached over 1.5 million students across a broad range of educational institutions and supported the launch of countless online programs around the country. “It’s clear that the University of St. Thomas is strongly committed to providing students with the best possible experience, starting from the moment they inquire,” said Mike Embry, associate vice president of program development at InsideTrack. “We’re proud to partner with them in this effort and excited for the impact our partnership will have on both student and institutional outcomes.”
