Leading University in Online and Religious Education Taps Global Network to Enhance Student Success

BYU-Pathway Worldwide working with InsideTrack to develop a world-class mentoring program for its more than 40,000 students

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (OCTOBER 16, 2018) — BYU-Pathway Worldwide, an online higher education entity that serves nearly 40,000 students in more than 70 countries, today announced a partnership with the student success experts at InsideTrack to expand student support through a coaching and mentoring program that will leverage BYU-Pathway’s staff and international community of missionaries and volunteers.

Over the next year, the two organizations will partner to build a world-class student support program that will augment the university’s existing Success Network (SN) to improve persistence, completion and career readiness of online students.

Founded and guided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, BYU-Pathway Worldwide provides students with a unique combination of online learning and religious education around the world. Taking a novel approach that leverages both InsideTrack’s proven methodologies for student success and BYU-Pathway’s vast international network, the new program will provide students with the support and mentorship they need to succeed, irrespective of their location.

InsideTrack’s experts are currently working with BYU-Pathway Worldwide to assess the university’s current student support strategy and define enhanced approaches to student engagement, roster management, quality assurance and professional development. InsideTrack will also train and certify an initial corps of mentors and managers, support BYU-Pathway Worldwide in developing its own training program and guide university leaders through the process of organizational change and transformation to ensure long-term success.

Once complete, coaches and mentors from the Success Network will work one-on-one with students to help them develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to effectively  navigate college, career and life.

“To ensure that BYU-Pathway Worldwide students benefit fully from the opportunity to learn, to enhance their job prospects and to develop their personal character, we must provide the right guidance and support,” said Ben Packer, student success vice president at BYU-Pathway Worldwide. “Our partnership with InsideTrack will increase the capability of our mentors to understand and effectively address student challenges. We hope this will help us reach our goal of retaining more at-risk students in the program to completion.”

“It is always a privilege to partner with organizations like BYU-Pathway Worldwide that share our passion for student success and prioritize continuous improvement in their student support programs,” said Carrie Lockhert, associate vice president of program development at InsideTrack. “We’re particularly excited to support the engagement of BYU-Pathway’s global network in bringing high quality mentoring to students around the world.”
