This Focus Area focuses on students' follow-through on intended actions. Effective students not only do what they set out to do, but also cultivate behaviors that are in line with their priorities, values, and goals.

The Effectiveness Focus Area helps students understand:

• How to make plans, and complete the actions required by those plans
• How they can cope with unexpected developments
• Steps they can take to avoid procrastination
