Symposium on retention, graduation and enrollment in higher education to take place Oct. 21, 2009
San Francisco, CA, Sept. 25, 2009 - InsideTrack’s Second Annual Symposium for Senior Administrators on Retention, Graduation, and Enrollment will take place Oct. 21, 2009 in New York. This invitation-only symposium will run from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers, with lunch following promptly after.
“Universities achieve their enrollment and graduation targets when they attract students who fit their institution and then provide those students with an outstanding educational experience,” said Kai Drekmeier, Founder and President of InsideTrack. “In times like these, families want to be sure that their sons and daughters will graduate on time, well prepared for life after college.”
Competition for new students is becoming increasingly intense as the economy forces families to re-think college plans, and students increase the number of applications that they submit. The symposium’s sessions will include discussions about the challenges of meeting enrollment objectives and ways to enhance retention and graduation initiatives.
Geared towards university presidents, provosts, vice presidents, and deans, the symposium will include presentations by David Kalsbeek, Senior Vice President of Enrollment at DePaul University; Kai Drekmeier, Founder and President of InsideTrack; and Barmak Nassirian, Associate Executive Director of External Relations of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).
Presentation topics will include:
- Approaching retention from an enrollment management perspective
- Using one-on-one student coaching as a tool to meet and exceed enrollment and retention goals
- The Obama Administration’s graduation initiative and private colleges
“InsideTrack’s mission is to support students and universities during the admissions process and then strengthen the experience and student engagement in ways that will improve graduation rates and academic outcomes; hosting this event is another way to further that goal. We expect this to be a series of excellent discussions,” said Drekmeier.
