InsideTrack to host two symposia on academic enrollment for higher ed executives
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, March 4, 2009 — InsideTrack, the leader in post-secondary student success coaching, is proud to announce two upcoming events in a symposia series on academic enrollment, aimed at senior administrators in higher education.
The first event, titled "Thinking Big About Retention: A Symposium for Senior Administrators," takes place on Wednesday March 18th and Thursday, March 19th in downtown San Francisco. The focus of the symposium will be insights into the retention challenges facing traditional institutions. Highlights include presentations by experts from inside and outside of academia. David Kalsbeek, Senior Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing at DePaul University, will challenge assumptions about retention management while explaining "Ten Reasons Universities Fail to Address Retention Effectively." McKinsey & Co. partner Paul Jansen will address the results of a collaboration sponsored by the Forum for the Future of Higher Education and McKinsey & Co. that analyzed the higher education sector from a classic "industry analysis" perspective, including trends and potential shocks to performance. David Bousquest, Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at Northern Arizona University, will wrap up the symposium by sharing which strategies have succeeded and which have failed to improve student persistence at his institution.
The second event, titled "Growing Adult Degree Programs: The Big Picture for Senior Administrators," takes place Thursday May 14th and Friday May 15th, also in San Francisco. This symposium will address new student inquiry and enrollment management. Highlights include perspectives on issues unique to continuing education programs. John Abraham, General Manager of Net Promoter Programs, Satmetrix, will explain the Net Promoter score, why it matters, and what universities can do to improve theirs. Nicholas Allen, Provost Emeritus and Professor, University of Maryland University College will give insights into "The Future of Non-Traditional Higher Education," highlighting the risks and opportunities ahead for universities as student demographics, as well as other factors, shift.
The objective of both events is to share the best in thought leadership from experts in enrollment management, as well as to offer senior executives in higher education valuable networking opportunities. Each event also includes an introduction to Insidetrack's coaching methods from Kai Drekmeier, InsideTrack's co-founder and president and a unique opportunity to see them in action at InsideTrack's San Francisco Coaching Center, where coaches meet with each participating student once a week over the phone, working together to help students achieve their goals. This innovative method, backed by significant investment in technology to support students and coaches, has helped InsideTrack's partner colleges consistently reduce attrition by as much as 20 percent, while increasing total enrollment and tuition revenue by 10 to 15 percent.
