CMU Partners with InsideTrack to Enhance the Learning Experience for Online Students
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, August 10, 2011— InsideTrack, Inc. (www.insidetrack.com) announced today that Central Michigan University (CMU)’s Off-Campus and Online division has selected InsideTrack to support the University’s commitment to a superior learning experience in the face of tremendous growth in online enrollment. Through one-on-one executive-style coaching sessions, InsideTrack Coaches will work with online adult learners who have been admitted to both bachelor’s and master’s degree programs to engage and prepare them for success as they begin the process of earning their degree.
“Our decision to partner with InsideTrack is consistent with our focus on the unique needs of adult learners and our commitment to providing them with the resources they need to be successful,” explained Merodie A. Hancock, Ph.D., Vice President and Executive Director of CMU’s Off-Campus and Online division. According to Dr. Hancock, CMU’s online enrollment has grown 20 percent each year for the past three years—demonstrating the University’s leadership role in bringing online learning to both traditional and adult learners. “InsideTrack can supplement and enhance the mentoring that we already provide students to make sure they achieve their goals,” added Dr. Hancock.
"CMU recognizes that online learners—whether they are 25 or 55—often require additional structure and support to thrive in this particular learning environment,” commented Kai Drekmeier, Founder and President of InsideTrack. “That’s exactly what our Coaches offer, and we are honored to support CMU in keeping pace with such impressive growth while preserving the highest quality educational programs and services.”
InsideTrack enables students to make the most of their education through one-on-one coaching designed to maximize their long-term success. InsideTrack Coaching improves enrollment and graduation rates, enhances the student experience, and aggregates feedback about student needs and perceptions that universities can use to inform decision-making.
CMU encourages intellectual and moral growth, prepares students for meaningful careers and professions, instills the values of lifelong learning, and encourages civic responsibility, public service and understanding among social groups in a global society. Through a combination of online and off-campus programs, CMU provides specific opportunities for adult learners to achieve their individual educational goals for personal growth and career development.
