Student Success Story

Heather Parsons, Graduate Student
Northeastern University

Heather Parsons works full-time. More than full-time, in fact — between 45-50 hours per week as a billing specialist at a national law firm. A 26-year-old graduate student at Northeastern University, she is determined to obtain her MA in Leadership and Human Resource Management and is taking two classes per semester to reach her goal.

Heather credits her coach, Chris Tilghman, with helping her manage work-life issues.

"My time constraints are very difficult since I have a heavy workload and spend a lot of time in class," Heather explains. "Chris is amazing. He is very proactive and inquires about my time-management skills and helps make sure my schedule is on track. He makes suggestions, lets me bounce ideas off him and tries to draw me out to prevent problems from occurring."

Chris was particularly helpful, she says, when she turned to him for advice after personality conflicts arose in a study group. "He broke the problem down, and suggested that I speak to my classmates about it and try some conflict-resolution techniques. I did, and it really helped ease the tension."

For Heather, InsideTrack coaching has helped improve her overall graduate school experience. "Northeastern really hit the nail on the head with this," she says.

"I wish I had had a coach as an undergraduate — I think it's priceless. I would pay for this service, to be honest."
