Arlene Wesley Cash has served as the inaugural Vice President for Enrollment Management at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA for the past 6 years. Previously, she served as the Dean of Enrollment at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and as an enrollment professional at 5 other colleges and universities for more than 30 years. Cash has also worked extensively with various TRIO programs and in the area of residential life throughout her career. A recipient of the 2007 NEOA (New England Education Opportunities Association) Achiever Award and recently recognized by the Chronicle of Higher Education as one of 10 Admissions Deans Who are Shaping Their Field, Arlene has served on a number of advisory committees and boards. She was the co-director of NACAC’s Chief Enrollment Managers seminar, serves as a member of the College Board/Harvard University Summer Institute on Admission, was a commissioner for the College Board’s Commission on Access, Admissions and Success in Higher Education, is a member of the US News and World Report Deans’ Advisory Group, and serves on the board of the College Options Foundation. In 2007 she was named the founding board chairperson for Georgia's first all-girl's charter school, Ivy Preparatory Academy (grades 6-12). She has presented at the local, regional and national conferences of the American Association for Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC), the College Board, the National Center for Enrollment Research, Policy, and Practice (NCEPP), and for media outlets including NPR (Talk of the Nation), US News and World Report, and PBS. Arlene holds a bachelor's degree in the fields of English and Philosophy from Keuka College, and an M.A. in Philosophy from Kent State University.
